Zheng Xie (郑燮 in Chinese, 1693-1766), commonly known as Zheng Banqiao, was a painter and calligrapher in the Qing Dynasty, best known as one of the Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou.

Zheng Xie was born into a scholarly family in Xinghua, Jiangsu Province, and received a traditional scholarly education with the hope of pursuing a distinguished career in the government. He passed the highest-level imperial examinations at the age of 39 and served as a government official for about ten years. Later, he returned to Yangzhou and earned a living by selling his paintings.

In his art, he excelled in depicting flowers and birds in ink, with his most prominent achievements found in the portrayal of bamboo, orchids, and rocks, which symbolize integrity, uprightness, and unwavering character. While primarily influenced by the styles of Xu Wei, Shi Tao, and Ba Da Shan Ren, he established his own artistic style, characterized by a vigorous and sharp artistic expression.
