Ma Lin (马麟 in Chinese, active during the early to mid-thirteenth century) was a court painter during the Southern Song dynasty. Born in Lin'an (present-day Hangzhou), Zhejiang province, he was the son of the renowned court painter Ma Yuan. Remarkably, his family, spanning five generations from his great-great-grandfather, received official appointments to the Hanlin Academy. Ma Lin was a versatile painter with exceptional skills in landscape, figures, and bird-and-flower paintings.
